How to write a useful message

Two sentences of detail save a week of going back and forth.

1. Say what you need in the first two sentences. Background afterwards.
2. Give the exact page address if your message is about something we published, plus what you expected to read and what you found instead.
3. Add the browser and device if something looks broken, and a screenshot if you have one.

What we cannot do

There is a line between publishing about home cooking and kitchen tips and advising you personally, and we stay on the publishing side of it. That rules out account problems, disputes with third parties, and anything that depends on facts only you can see. See the legal notice.

How long a reply takes

Two or three working days is normal. If a week passes with nothing, assume the message went astray and send it again rather than assuming we ignored you.

If we got it wrong

If we published something inaccurate, say so plainly and point at the sentence. Corrections are handled under our editorial policy. You do not need to be polite about it, only specific.

Commercial enquiries

Write to the same address. We answer commercial enquiries slowly and decline most of them, which is worth knowing before you spend time on a proposal.
